Ron Dillon
Ron is a life long resident of Anne Arundel County. He was born in March of 1975 and lived with his parents in the Elmhurst community in Severn. At the age of 16, he and his family moved a few miles southeast to Millersville. His parents had a home built on a parcel of property owned by the Dillon family. Ron began High School at Glen Burnie Senior High in the fall of 1989. While in High School, Ron worked for the family Motor Coach business as a mechanic. Ron drove Stock Cars at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, VA. Ron was also crew chief and head mechanic for his brother Kevin. Ron got his start in racing driving in the Hobby Stock division. After two successful years in the Hobby Stock class, Ron moved up to the Late Model Stock Car division, Old Dominion's premier division.
Ron graduated High School in 1993 and began college at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). Ron earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a Certificate in Administration in 1997. After college he passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam on his first attempt and worked for a "Big 5" accounting firm.
In 1998 Ron returned to the family business as Controller. Under Ron's leadership the company has grown from a 45 bus operation in 2000 to a company with over 170 motor coaches in 3 locations. Ron became Vice President of Dillon's Bus Service, Maryland's largest motor coach company in 2007. Ron's Roll as Vice President was business development, executive and financial management.
Shortly after September 11th, Ron decided to take a very proactive role in his community. He campaigned for Anne Arundel County Councilman in District 3. Despite being young and a political novice, he earned the trust of District 3 voters. In 2002, at the age of 27, he became Anne Arundel County's youngest Councilman in history. While on the Council, his peers elected him to Chairman twice, the highest position on the Council. Ron retired from the County Council at the end of 2010 because of term limits.
During his time on the County Council he dealt with many real estate and land issues. For eight years he reviewed and voted on legislation impacting land use, real estate law, and critical area amongst other property related topics. Ron enjoyed working with real estate issues and decided to obtain his Real Estate Agent license.
Ron joined Keller Williams Flagship of Maryland in 2010. Clients have found his real estate knowledge gained during this tenure on the Council to be a big asset. He also has extensive contacts both in and out of the county related to his political and business background.
Ron remains highly involved in his community serving on the Board of Directors for Baltimore Washington Medical Center, the Pasadena Business Association and is a founding Board Member of Watershed Stewarts Academy. In addition, he serves on the Board of Visitors for Shock Trauma.
On July 11, 1998, Ron married his High School sweetheart, Melanie Bodine. Shortly after their marriage they purchased their first home together at Farmington Village in Pasadena. On December 13,2002, Melanie gave birth to Ronald Chaney Dillon, III (Trey). On September 19, 2004, they gave birth to their second child, Olivia Danielle Dillon. Much like his uncle, father, and grandfather, racing is in Trey's blood. At the age of 7, Trey began competing in the Champ Kart Division at King George Speedway in King George, VA. Olivia stays active with dance and soccer. On January 5, 2011, Melanie gave birth to twin boys, Aaron and Cameron.
